Protect your jewelry by removing it when washing your hands, swimming, exercising, cleaning and before applying any kind of personal body product. Maintain your jewelry’s shine by avoiding contact with agents such as soaps, perfume, lotion, makeup, hair & cleaning products, etc. Always wear your rubber or metal safety backs with your earrings to prevent loss. Although Lena Vera products are carefully handcrafted with high quality materials, these pieces need to be handled gently to ensure a longer lifespan.
For best results, store jewelry away from sunlight and extreme temperatures. Store in a lined box for safe keeping.
ACRYLIC JEWELRY CARE
To clean acrylic of smudges or finger prints, gently wipe with cloth and water and then dry. Use a commercial plastic cleaner or mild soap and water to remove stronger dirt and debris. When applying cleaner, use a non-abrasive lint-free or microfiber cloth that won't scratch the surface
STERLING SILVER JEWELRY CARE
Sterling Silver is delicate and may be damaged if not handled with care.
Remove jewelry when washing your body, swimming, exercising, or cleaning. Avoid contact with soaps, perfume, lotion, makeup, hair, and cleaning products. Stones are fragile and can break, crack, or scratch if not handled with care. Avoid extreme heat.
GOLD PLATED JEWELRY CARE
Although carefully crafted with high quality materials, these pieces need to be cared for to live their best lives. Do not wear your gold plated jewelry in water. Avoid contact with lotions, perfumes, oils, and sweat. These chemicals can dull your pieces and reduce their shine. Store all plated jewelry away from sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep in a lined box for best results.
We recommend your jewelry be the last thing you put on when heading out. After removing your jewelry, run a clean dry cloth over each piece to remove the day. Do not use polish or soap on these pieces, as these chemicals can easily strip the gold. If you have a known allergy to brass, please be aware when purchasing gold plated jewelry.
If you wish to protect Gold Plated jewelry further, a coat of clear nail polish is recommended.
14K GOLD FILLED JEWELRY CARE
Our gold filled jewelry is created with an outer layer of entirely 14k gold that is pressure-bonded to the brass base metal and contains at least 5% gold by weight. This technique provides a longer life span than gold platting for your pieces when provided with the right care. Gold fill is safe for most sensitive skin types. Please be cautious if you have an allergy to brass as our gold filled jewelry still contains this metal and your skin may have a reaction.
Gold filled jewelry often requires very low maintenance. Gold fill pieces are more durable than plating, but need to be cared for to live their best lives. You can clean your items with a wet cloth, gentle toothbrush, and ordinary soap. Do not use rough-surfaced cleaning pads.
Though our gold filled pieces are durable, we still do not recommend them coming in direct contact with lotions, oils, perfumes, or ocean/pool water. This can dull your pieces and reduce their shine. We recommend your jewelry be the last thing you put on when heading out. After removing your jewelry, run a clean dry cloth over each piece to remove the day.
